HAUL TRUCK OPERATOR – RIGID FRAME

Sparwood, BC | Mining Operations | 7 Days On / 7 Days Off

12-Hour Shifts | Overtime After 8 Hours | $200/Day LOA

There’s something satisfying about running a loaded haul truck, keeping production moving, and seeing what a good crew can accomplish in a shift.

At MacKay Contracting, you’ll operate Caterpillar 777 rigid-frame haul trucks on large-scale mining earthworks projects in southeastern British Columbia. You’ll be part of a crew that takes pride in its equipment, looks out for one another, and knows that every load counts.

If you enjoy running big iron, working with people who know their jobs, and having seven days off to enjoy life outside of work, this could be a good fit.

The Work

Your job is to keep material moving safely and efficiently while helping the crew meet its production goals.

You’ll get to:

* Run big iron. Operate Caterpillar 777 rigid-frame haul trucks, moving large volumes of material on active mine sites.

* Keep production moving. Work alongside excavator, dozer, and support equipment operators to maintain safe, efficient haul cycles.

* Take pride in your equipment. Complete pre-operational inspections, recognize developing mechanical issues, and help keep your truck in good working condition.

* Look out for your crew. Stay aware of changing ground conditions, equipment movements, and the people working around you.

* Be part of the operation. Pitch in with general site activities and ground support when needed. Everyone contributes to getting the job done.

* Finish the shift right. Complete required safety documentation, equipment reports, and daily records so the next shift is set up for success.

This is production mining work. The days are long, the equipment is big, and conditions can change quickly. You’ll be working with people who understand what it takes to get the job done safely.

You’ll Probably Fit Here If…

You’ve spent time behind the wheel of a rigid-frame haul truck and understand the pace and demands of a production mining environment.

You’re someone who:

* Has at least 1–3 years of experience operating Caterpillar or comparable rigid-frame haul trucks.

* Understands safe hauling practices, equipment limitations, and mine-site traffic procedures.

* Takes equipment inspections seriously and recognizes when something isn’t right.

* Pays attention to changing conditions and makes good decisions without needing someone watching over your shoulder.

* Works well with other operators and isn’t afraid to lend a hand outside the cab.

* Holds a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and can reliably travel to and from the worksite.

* Is comfortable working outdoors, in changing weather, on 12-hour shifts.

Experience in surface mining, large-scale earthworks, or similar heavy industrial operations will serve you well.
